When I first entered the field of psychotherapy, I felt a deep sense of uncertainty and worry. I didn’t know where I wanted to work, who I wanted to work with, or what type of work I wanted to do. I had entered my Master’s program seeking more certainty and stability in my career and found that upon finishing, I had even more. Gradually, through twists and turns, I eventually found my place in owning and running a private psychotherapy practice. But if I had it to do all over again, I would have gone into private practice right away. That’s why I started Honest Psychotherapy: I want to help early career therapists find the purpose in their work that I sought.
